APPARATUS (ROTATIO), 2015

Apparatus (Rotatio), an artwork, produced by Dominique Blais in 2015, is the final piece of the project resulted of the multiple ramifications undertaken by the artist at the North Pole in 2008. It consists of a turntable devoid of amplification system that retains only its roundabout function.
The B side of the vinyl Apparatus *, containing a screen print of an illustration of the Svalbard territory, becomes a selective cartography of the Arctic Circle and, while making a complete revolution per day, can be also considered as a certain representation of the world.

* Apparatus (2011) is an object resulted from the documentation process and taking form of a vinyl disc and a booklet containing information on the works carried out by the artist during his Arts in the Poles residency held in Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard, in 2008.
