CONCRETE SOUNDPROOF, 2010
Three components: a hi-fi and two grey-concrete parallelepipeds are placed on the floor. The two concrete blocks, which imitates a speaker ersatz - by their shape and disposition - are wired to the amplifier.
In fact, these forms are "negatives" or internal prints of the speakers. The artist cast the concrete, mixed with various materials, in the wooden container for speakers after having removed the baffles so they could be inserted into this mixture of the fiber-reinforced concrete with sound-proof properties. Functional, the device plays constantly the music but does not let the sound pass through.
